DJ ELL
Elliott Sabbagh (That DJ ELL) is a vinyl turntablist DJ and is experienced in audio engineering, mixing, and mastering in multiple music genres including Hip-Hop, R&B, EDM, and classical. Trained since age five on classical violin, he credits his success as a DJ, turntablist, and engineer to his many years of playing and studying strings.
Having worked extensively in the Midwest and East Coast, DJ Ell has performed around the country with artists and groups including ASAP Rocky, Big K.R.I.T., Curren$y, J. Cole, Juicy J, Logic, Maybach Music Group, Slum Village, Twista, and Wale, amongst others. He’s also played U.S. tours with Big Sean’s Finally Famous, Machine Gun Kelly/ EST19XX, and Wiz Khalifa’s Taylor Gang. He plays a wide range of clubs, concerts, and festivals like Vans Warped Tour, along with many benefit concerts, and entertainment events hosted by companies such as MTV and Red Bull.
In 2008, at age 14, Ell was invited by DJ Chill Will, host of The Prop Shop, (the Midwest’s longest running FM radio Hip-Hop show, since 1988) on WCBN-FM Ann Arbor, to join his show as his co-host. He considered Ell a "musical, rhythmic prodigy". At age 14, DJ Ell became the youngest turntablist DJ in the U.S to co-host a Hip-Hop show on FM radio, from 2008 to 2013. He left Michigan to earn his degree at Boston’s Berklee College of Music in 2013. While WCBN was Ell’s first radio experience, he has played at numerous stations including Big City 101.3 Boston, WMBR Cambridge, MA, and KSHI 90.9FM, NM. Since 2011, Ell has presented private and community DJ classes and workshops/lectures at schools including MIT and the University of Michigan.
